Lucullus Edney Dies; Funeral Set Sunday

LYNNHAVEN - Lucullus Edney, 61, of Route 2, Box 338, Lynnhaven. died Thursday at 
6:45 a.m. at McGuire Hospital, Richmond, after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edney, and a native of Princess 
Anne County. He was retired from the Naval Base in 1954, and was a member of the 
American Legion Post 81, Virginia Beach. He also was a member of the Lynnhaven 
Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Edney; four sons, Leon Edney and Barney Edney, 
both of Virginia Beach; Lucullus Edney Jr. and Roland Eugene Edney, both of 
Princess Anne County; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Shaw of Princess Anne County 
and Mrs. Geraldine Elliott of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mrs. Jakey Hunter of 
Princess Anne County; Mrs. Gertie Brown of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Alice 
Johnson of Norfolk; one brother, John Edney of Virginia Beach.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Hale Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. by 
Elder Benjamin. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetry with full military honors.
