Virginian-Pilot November 21, 1901
Mrs. Mary E. Edson, wife of Mr. M. C. Edson, died at the family residence, near 
Providence, in the county, yesterday morning at 9 o'clock. She was 63 years of 
age, twice married and leaves a husband and two children. Mrs. Edson was a 
communicant of the Episcopal church and was well-known and highly esteemed in her 
community. The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 2 
o'clock with Rev. Dr. C. M. Conant, pastor of St. Thomas' Episcopal church, 
officiating; and the interment will be in Elmwood cemetery, Norfolk.
