Bessie Collier Edwards, 85, died Tuesday, June 21, 1994, in a Norfolk health 
care center.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Weldon, Halifax County, N.C. She was the retired 
corporate statement teller and vault custodian for Sovran bank after many years 
of service. She was a member of Fairmont Park United Methodist Church. She was 
also a member of the Church Official Board and was superintendent of the 
Children's Division of the church for over 40 years.
Survivors include a niece, Betty Benn Walton of Cartersville; and two nephews, 
Rev. William deV. Renn of Gap Mill, W.Va. and Edwin E. Renn Jr. of Atlanta.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Fairmont Park United Methodist 
Church by the Rev. Won H. Un. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family 
will be at Cox Funeral Home on Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
