Norfolk Landmark February 3, 1880
DEATH OF MR. JOHN A. EDWARDS
This gentleman, we regret to announce, died at his residence on Church street 
Sunday morning, after several weeks' illness of typhoid pneumonia, in the 31st 
year of his age. He was a native of the Eastern Shore, but had resided in Norfolk 
several years, and, as a commission and shipping merchant, had made many friends. 
He left a wife and one child to mourn their sad loss. His funeral took place from 
the Freemason Street Baptist Church yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and was 
well-attended, among those present being the members of the various orders of 
which the deceased was a member.
