Norfolk Landmark April 2, 1895
Mrs. Louisa G., the devoted wife of the Rev. J. J. Edwards, at the age of 67 
years, calmly passed to her eternal rest yesterday morning at 9:45 o'clock. She 
was born in the city of Philadelphia and in girlhood came to Norfolk. Forty-six 
years ago she was united in marriage to the surviving partner of her sorrows and 
her joys, and her married life was one of unalloyed felicity. Her sickness, 
although protracted, she bore with a Christian's fortitude and yielded her 
spirit to Him she sincerely worshipped, surrounded by her grief-stricken husband 
and her two sons, the Rev. Theodore and Mr. Trevis (sic) Edwards. As she lived, 
she died a devout Christian. Her funeral will take place at the Chestnut street 
M. E. Church tomorrow at 11 o'clock. The remains will be taken to Norfolk for 
interment in the family lot.
