He was taken sick at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the office of the Norfolk Southern railroad in the Union depot, where he was employed as a clerk. He was well known and had many friends. He was the son of Mrs. Sarah A. and the late Captain Oscar E. Edwards. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Oscar E. and Elliott D. Edwards; his mother; two brothers, Baker E. Edwards of New York and W. Howard Edwards of Norfolk; and a sister, Mrs. J. W. Hunt, of Washington, D.C. The funeral will be held at the residence of his mother, 202 W. Thirtieth street, at 3:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. R. A. Williams, of Park Place Baptist church, and Rev. Dr. S. W. Melton, of Freemason Street Baptist church. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
