Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 5 1935

William J. Edwards, age 69 years, son of the late William Josiah and Amelia 
Chapman Edwards, died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at the residence of his 
son-in-law, Joseph C. Wool, 3-A Claremont Apartments, 1020 Claremont Avenue, 
after a brief illness.  Mr. Edwards was a native of Isle of Wight County and 
had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 50 years.  He was connected with 
the auditor's office of the City of Norfolk.  He is survived by one 
daughter, Mrs. Joseph C. Wool and one granddaughter, Katharine Anne Wool, 
both of Norfolk. Services will be held at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 
610-12 East Freemason Street, tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. 
Thomas A. Smoot, D.D., pastor of Epworth M.E. Church, officiating.  
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  Mr. Edwards was a member of the 
Wesleymen's Bible Class.
