Clarestine S. Edwards, of Armfield Drive, died Dec. 5, 1993, in a local hospital.

She formerly operated a cleaning and pressing business in the Brambleton section
of Norfolk and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Bute St.; the
Usher Board (NU)1. Her parents were the late Clara and Charlie Davis of the old
Huntersville section of Norfolk. She was predeceased by her husband, James
Edwards Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Regina S. Lockamy of Temple Hills, Md.; a son,
the Rev. James Edwards III of Chesapeake; two sisters, Mattie Taborn and
Gertrude Matthews, both of Norfolk; one brother, Charlie Davis Jr., also of
Norfolk; a daughter-in-law, Delores Winfield Edwards; four grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Dr. Robert G. Murray officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will be at the home of Rev. and
Mrs. James Edwards III, 2224 Dunbarton Drive in Chesapeake. Graves Funeral Home
is handling arrangements.
