Edwards of 2224 Courtney Ave., a native of Martin County, N.C., and the wife of Johnnie Edwards, died Friday in a hospital. She was a member of New St. Mark's Baptist Church and its Senior Usher Board and Missionary Society and a former member of its Senior Choir. She was a member also of Miriam Tents, 13. Other survivors include three daughters, Gayneal Parris of Virginia Beach and Frena Edwards and Stephanie Edwards of Norfolk; two sons, James Edwards and Woolard Edwards of Norfolk; two sisters, Annie L. Wallace of Everetts, N.C., and Alice Woolard of Williamston, N.C.; three brothers, John T. Woolard of Plymouth, N.C., Robert R. Woolard of Alexandria and James Woolward of Norfolk; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in New St. Mark's Baptist Church by the Rev. C.W. Tyson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in Graves Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. The family will be at her home.
