NORFOLK - Mrs. Carrie Edwards, 62, of 607 Virginia Beach Blvd. died Sunday in a 
nursing home after a short illness.

A native of Raleigh, she was the widow of John Edwards and a daughter of the 
Rev. William and Mrs. Mahalia Chavis.

She was a member of New Calvary Baptist church and Daughters Elks.

Surviving are two nephews, David Alston of Norfolk and Robert Lee Smith of New 
York, and two nieces, Mrs. Lottie Norfleet and Mrs. Mary L. Plummer of Norfolk.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in New Calvary Baptist 
Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. 
Morning Glory Funeral Home has charge.
