She was the daughter of Joe and Polly Ann Washinton and a native of Washington, N.C. She had lived in Norfolk 29 years. She was a member of Solida Rock Disciples Church where she served in the Missionary Circle. She is survived by five sons, James Edwards of Ridgeway, John Henry Edwards of Miami, Fla., and Mayhue Edwards, Dewey Edwards and Ivory Edwards, all of Norfolk; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Whitney, Mrs. Beulah Whitley and Mrs. Lula May Shambry, all of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Laura Guilford of South Carolina; three brothers, Willie Washington of Miami and George Washington and Howard Washington, both of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Service. Additional Comments: NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Lula Winnie Edwards, 623, of 1222 Corprew Ave., who died Sunday, will be held at Solid Rock Disciples Church Sunday at 2 p.m. by Elder Alex Varner, pastor, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Riddick Funeral Service will have charge.
