Mrs. Edwards was a native of Norfolk and was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and Portsmouth. She was a member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. She formerly taught at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School and also worked in the family construction business. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School, Portsmouth, and attended Old Dominion University. Survivors include her husband, Rex Lanier Edwards of Norfolk; two daughters, Stephanie M. Edwards of Norfolk and Bridget Ann Edwards of Chesapeake; a son, Rex L. Edwards Jr. of Culpeper, Va.; her mother, Marie Antoinette Console Revell of Norfolk; a sister, Mary Ann Alberti of Delran, N.J.; and a brother, William Grant Revell Jr. of Richmond. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Tidewater Chapter.
