Rev. Edmond Bombay Edwards, a Baptist minister, formerly a missionary in India, 
died yesterday morning at his home in Lambert’s Point, after a protracted 
illness, in the 67th year of his age. The deceased was a native of Wales, and 
had lived in Norfolk for some years. He leaves a widow and daughter. The 
funeral took place at 4 o’clock this afternoon from the Burrows Memorial 
Baptist Church, Lambert’s Point, and was conducted by pastor, Rev. George W. 
Cox, assisted by Rev. C. H. McGhee, of Zion Methodist Church. The interment was 
in Elmwood.

The Rev E. Bombay Edwards, returned missionary of the Baptist denomination to 
Bombay, India, where he spent altogether about thirty years, died at his 
residence on Shenandoah Avenue at an early hour Sunday morning in the sixty-
seventh year of his age. He leaves a widow and one daughter. The funeral took 
place from the Burrows Memorial Baptist Church at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon 
and was conducted by the Rev. George W. Cox, pastor of the church, and assisted 
by the Rev. C.H. McGhee, of the Methodist Church, and the Rev. J.B. Waller of 
the Presbyterian Church, and Mr. A.B. Walker of Park Ave. Baptist Church, who 
was a fast friend of the deceased minister., each of whom paid brief tributes 
to the life and character of Mr. Edwards. The interment was in Elmwood 
Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: E. Britt, P.C. Wood, W.C. Patterson, 
L.B. Hughes, S.W. Wood, S.J. Winborne and Jonathan Martin
