Mrs. Pearl Edwards of 1718 Todd street, South Norfolk, died Friday, May 8, in a
local hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Edwards was the foster daughter of Mrs. Fannie Upton and the late O. R.
Upton, and the widow of Weldon Edwards. She was a native of Norfolk.

Besides her foster mother, surviving are two foster brothers, Ocer Upton of
Newark, NJ, and the Rev. Cecil Upton of Norfolk; two nieces, one nephew and two
cousins.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church, Lambert's Point, Monday, May
11. The Rev. H. B. Bobbitt officiated.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, with Pretlow's Funeral Home in charge.
