Edwards died at 2 o'clock a.m. yesterday after a short illness in the sixtieth year of hi age. The deceased was well known and highly esteemed in the community. He was a brother of Captain Oscar E. Edwards and Mr. Walter A. Edwards, of the Public Ledger. With these, he is also survived by three children - Mr. O. W. Edwards, Mrs. William Ruddick and Mrs. M. E. Roberson. The deceased entered the Confederate service at the early age of 16 years and served in the Hager battery, following the fortunes of the Confederacy from the beginning to the close of hostilities. Mr. Edwards was a brick mason by vocation and had resided in Norfolk all his life. The funeral will be announced later.
