Oscar E. Edwards, president of the Virginia Pilots' Association, and one o of the pioneer pilots of the waters of Chesapeake Bay, died last night at his r residence, 25 Charlotte Street, at 10:45 after a protracted illness. Captain Edwards's life ran the span allotted to man, three score and ten years. His death was not unexpected, and he was surrounded by the members of his family and life-long comrades. The funeral arrangements will be announced later. Captain Edwards was the oldest pilot in the Virginia association. For many y years he was an active member of the association and one of its leaders. He had h headed the association for many years, as senior member. He was held in the h highest esteem by his comrades and by the public in general. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah A. Edwards, and three sons, one daughter and one brother. The surviving children are: Baker E., Oscar T. and W. Howard Edwards, and Mrs. Mary A. Hunt.
