Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, May 28, 2003 
Mary Edwards, 70, of the 100 block of Suburban Parkway, entered into eternal
life with Jesus at her side on May 22, 2003.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Bolling Brook, where she
served on the Missionary, Trustee and Deaconess boards. She was also one of the
``mothers'' of the church. She was born to the late Ernest and Norvella Holmes.

Lizzie, which she liked to be called, leaves to cherish her memory four
daughters, Patricia Peel, Martha Chatman, Aretelia Clark and Sareda Tatem; two
sons, Samuel Edwards and Maurice Holmes; a special grandson, Jordan Edwards;
four sisters, Ruth Smith, Veronica Graham, Francis Holmes and Gloria Holmes; one
brother, Samuel Holmes; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.

A funeral will be at noon Friday at First Baptist Church, Bolling Brook.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family and friends will assemble at 912
Widgeon Road one hour prior to the service for the procession to the church.
Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street Chapel, is in charge.
