EGERTON, 82, FINANCIAL OFFICIAL, DIES Was Native of Norfolk; Funeral To Be Held Tomorrow Morning Oliver James Egerton, who had lived in Norfolk all his 82 years, died yesterday at 12:20 p.m. at his residence, 528 Warren Crescent. He ha been a member of the board of directors of the Seaboard Citizens National Bank and treasurer of several Norfolk corporations. He was employed until 1904 at the Post Office, where he was in charge of the money order department. Then he became cashier of the Bank of Norfolk, which afterwards was merged with the Seaboard Citizens National Bank. Many years ago he was associated with the Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company. Later he was treasurer of the Twin City Building and Loan Association and of the Mutual Federal Savings and Loan Association of Norfolk after the merger of the two firms. He also served as treasurer of the Barry Robinson Home for Boys and of Barry, Parks and Son, Inc. He was husband of Mrs. Mary Parker Egerton and son of the late George S. and Mrs. Hannah Sullivan Egerton. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William Parker Egerton, Sr.; a grandson, William Parker Egerton, Jr., of Norfolk and one sister, Mrs. John B. Maher, of Washington. The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30 o'clock. ************************************************************************** OLIVER JAMES EGERTON - The body of Mr. Egerton, who died Monday, will be taken from the H. John J. Bannon. The Rev. Edward W. Johnston, the Rev. P. C. Blackburn, the Rev. Francis Klemmer, Father Urban, Father DeSales and Father Terrence were present in the sanctuary. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Robert L. Parker, Ralph Parker, Dr. A. D. Parker, J. Harrison Parker, Frank X. Parker, Jr., M. J. Long and Raymond E. Long.
