Egerton Sr., 55, owner of the Egerton Motor Corp., at Monticello Ave. and 26th St., died Sunday at 10:25 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital. Son of Oliver James Egerton and Mary Parker Egerton, he was a native of Norfolk and resided at 528 Warren Crescent at the time of his death. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Norfolk Lodge No. 38, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; the Izaak Walton League and Junius Lynch Post No. 37, American Legion. He was a trustee of the Barry-Robinson Home for Boys at Thomas Corner. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Nash Egerton; a son, William P. Egerton Jr. of Lynnhaven, and two grandsons, William P. Egerton III and Macy Willis Egerton, also of Lynnhaven. Rosary services will begin at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 7:30 p.m. The body will be taken from the funeral apartments to Sacred Heart Church for services Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
