Chris was born in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Stephen and Linda Young. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her brother Daniel Young. Christine dedicated her life to serving others. Whether it was designing grave markers for families at a cemetery or providing exceptional behind-the-scenes care as an office mgr. administrator in the mental health care field at Riverside Behavioral and finally at Virginia Beach Counseling and Wellness. Chris was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and a friend to everyone she met. Christine and Mo became a couple in 2003 and married in 2009. Chris had her first son Michael at a young age and then in January 2014, gave birth to their daughter Allie. Christine always dreamed of owning a farm. And finally, in March of 2021, her dream came true. She and Mo began gathering animals like Noah. It started with her favorite cat “Gingie” and dogs Snow and her companion animal Gunner, and then chickens, pheasants, peacocks, quail and numerous other feathered friends. She had a special love for her favorite Emu, Screech. She also had pigs, goats, barn cats and who knows whatever. After settling in Hertford, she busted her butt, like “Laura Ingles” from “Little House on the Prairie.” Chris and Mo built animal enclosures and made many new friends in their new homes. She slopped hogs, fed chickens, cleaned pens, etc., at sunrise and repeating in the afternoon along with Mo. Christine always wanted to please everyone, even during the tough times. She was one hell of a battler and gave breast cancer its own battle. She was a true Warrior. Chris will always be known for her love of Halloween and Dragons. Left to honor Christine’s memory are her loving husband and best friend of 14 years, Mo, son, Michael, daughter, Allie, stepson, Adam, parents, Steve and Linda, Tanya, who she always thought of as a sister (David and their son Waylon), her great friends and supportive neighbors, Allie’s school family that provided lots of support through her battle, James Ramdeholl, Jennifer Stilgebauer, Natalie Wingfield, Andy Bell and many other friends and other family members that are too numerous to name, but all loved just the same. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Bayside Christian Church, 2224 Greenwell Rd., Virginia Beach, VA, with a celebration of life to follow at 6:00 pm. Christine will be laid to rest at 11:00, Friday December 15th, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 3000 Church St. Norfolk, VA 23504.
