P. ELEY Well Known Man of South Norfolk Passed Away Yesterday Afternoon Llewellyn P. Eley, one of the best known and esteemed citizens of South Norfolk. died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at his home, on Jackson Avenue, after a continued illness covering a period of several months. The deceased was a native of Isle of Wight County, Va., but had been living here for some time. He was in the 48th year of his age and is survived by a widow and two children, Rufus Murdock and Maggie Hazel Eley; also two brothers, William Eley, of South Norfolk and another in Suffolk. Mr. Eley was for a number of years engaged in the mercantile business in Berkley and South Norfolk but more recently in the jewelry business. The funeral will take place from the residence, corner of Jackson and Gurrier Streets, South Norfolk, tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 11 o'clock and will be conducted by the Rev. D.A. Keys, of the Christian Church, assisted by Rev. C.B. Richards, pastor of the Church of Christ (Disciples). The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley Ward. ************************************************************************ ELEY - At his residence, Jackson and Gurrier avenues, South Norfolk, Monday afternoon, February 28, 1910, at 5 o'clock, LLEWELLYN P. ELEY, son of James M. and Mary M. Eley of Isle of Wight County, aged 47 years, 8 months and 1 day. Funeral from the above residence WEDNESDAY MORNING at 11 o'clock. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Eley of South Norfolk was conducted from the South Norfolk Christian Church yesterday morning at 11 o'clock and was largely attended. The deceased was well known and highly respected, he having been a resident of South Norfolk a good many years. Rev. D.A. Keys, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian Church, assisted by Rev. C.B. Richards, pastor of the Christ (Disciples) Church, officiated. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery. The pallbearers: J.G. Ambrose, Capt. George Funk, J.W Rogers, A.B. Hanbury, L.A. Wright and J.C. Johnson.
