Eley, aged 50 years, one of the best known residents of South Norfolk, died yesterday afternoon at 1:55 o'clock at his residence, 20 Jackson street, after a lingering illness. He was a son of the late James and Mrs. Mary Darden Eley of Southampton County, Va., but had been a resident of this section 22 years He is survived by his widow, Mrs Annie V. Eley; one sister, Mrs. Alice Bryant of Courtland, Va.; one brother, J.A. Eley of Norfolk. For many years the deceased had been connected with the Virginia Life Insurance Company and also interested in a real estate business in South Norfolk. The funeral services will be conducted at the above residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery. ***************************************************** The funeral of William E. Eley, who died at his home, 20 Jackson street, South Norfolk, will take place at the above residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. C.N. Hartness, pastor of the Liberty street Methodist Church will conduct the services and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
