He was a member of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church and Woodmen of the World Camp 46; a veteran of World War I, and a retired machinist of Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Coley of Woodbridge; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Etta Ellis and Mrs. Sarah Quniby of Norfolk; a stepson, Ralph L. Seery of Norfolk; seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
