Mrs. Elliott was a native of Norfolk, where she attended public schools. She was later a student at Radford College, Madison College and the College of William and Mary, before returning to Norfolk to teach home economics in the school system there. She resided in Lafayette, La., for 34 years, where she was active in the Parent- Teachers Association; Lafayette Women's Club; Galvez Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was organizing president of Marquis de Lafayette Chapter of the Children of the American Revolution. Mrs. Elliott also worked with League of Women Voters. She returned to make her home in Williamsburg in 1957. Her husband, the late Dr. Albert Pettigrew Elliott, was professor emeritus in the English department at the College of William and Mary. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church and its Clara Havermale Church Circle, and the Williamsburg Chapter of DAR. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alice Cooper Elliott, at home, and one son, Lewis Norwood Elliott of Washington, D.C. A funeral was conducted Monday at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 1120 Ironbound Rd. at Strawberry Plains Road, by the Rev. James W. Brown, former pastor of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
