Virginian-Pilot June 13, 1949
Thomas E. Elliott, 82, son of the late Thomas E. and Mrs. Mary Davis Elliott, a 
native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at a Norfolk hospital Saturday at 
2:30 p.m. Surviving are one son, Lawrence Elliott, of New Mexico; two sisters, 
Mrs. O. G. Womble and Mrs. W. R. Boutwell, and a brother, W. R. Elliott, all of 
Norfolk. Services will be conducted at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments today at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of 
Freemason Street Baptist Church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
