NORFOLK — Verona Virgie Elliott, 77, of the 400 block of Colonial Ave., a 
retired schoolteacher, died May 4, 1986, in a hospital.
Mrs. Elliott, a Norfolk native, had retired from Norfolk Public Schools after 43 
years. She had taught at Ocean View Elementary for 43 years and at James Monroe 
Elementary for two years.
She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the 
American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the National 
Retired Teachers' Association.
Survivors include a nephew, Michael L. Elliott of Norfolk, and several cousins.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Cemetery 
by the Rev. James L. Duley.
The family will be at Cox Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial 
donations may be made to the church.
