NORFOLK - Mrs. Josephine C. Elliott, of 2708 Victoria Ave., a native of Edenton, 
N.C., and the wife of Odell Elliott, died Friday in a hospital.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Women's Club. Other 
survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Arnell Newton of the Bronx, N.Y., Miss 
Irene Elliott and Mrs. Gwendolyn Wormley of Norfolk, and Mrs. Deborah Jackson and 
Miss Beatrice Elliott of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Madelyn Newby of the Bronx; a 
brother, William Cox of Gardenia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and her step-father, 
Joseph Allmond of Lackey.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday at noon in St. Mary's 
Catholic Church by the Rev. Thomas J. Quinlan. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery. A Christian wake will be held in Hale Funeral Home Monday at 8 p.m.
