Norfolk - Funeral services were recently conducted for James Albert Ellis of 
1449 W. 43rd street in Queen Street Baptist Church.  The Rev. J. Jasper Freeman 
officiated.

A native of Littleton, NC, he was the husband of Mrs. Lelia H. Ellis and a son 
of the late George and Mrs. Mary Ellis.

He  held membership at Queen Street Baptist Church, where he was a member of the 
usher board and the Sunday School scholar.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Miss Louise Ellis of New York City;  
an adopted son, Charles Lee Barber;  and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Wood of 
Wilmington, NC.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Chatman Funeral Home in charge.
