She was the widow of Robert Ellis. The devotion to her Catholic faith sustained her through her life and illness. We want to thank God for her life and the gifts she gave us during her lifetime. Sheila was a native to the area who devoted her life to serving others through outstanding works of volunteerism. The quality of her life and strength of character were an inspiration. She celebrated her life with varied and intense interests and served many organizations with selfless acts of giving and fund raising. She received numerous awards honoring her charity. Sheila unselfishly planned, sponsored and promoted events which involved the arts, children, senior volunteerism, hospital auxiliaries, cancer and the community. She expressed her faith in all her actions and had a powerful inner strength that sustained her throughout life's adversities. All who remember her will never forget her great sense of humor, radiant smile and her charismatic personality. Throughout her life she shared her talent of creativity with the many friends she so dearly loved. The deep connections she made with so many lifelong friends were treasures that enriched her life. The compassion and devotion her friends and family offered during her illness deeply touched and comforted her. Sheila was totally devoted to her family and is survived by her daughter, Pamela Ellis, and husband, Rob Bacon; her granddaughter, Kelly Behrens; her sons, Paul Ellis and Greg Ellis; sister, Patricia Pezella, brother-in-law, John Pezella, and four children, Jennifer Phillips, Harris Pezella, Danny Pezella and Billy Pezella. The deep love shared by the Pezella family throughout her illness touched and carried her to the end. A memorial Mass will be held at the Church of St. Gregory the Great, Saturday at 1 p.m. Visitation with the family will be at noon in the church vestibule.
