Lucille Irene Brodeur Ellis, of the 1500 block of Ashland Circle, died April 9, 
2004, in her residence.

Mrs. Ellis was a native of Nashua, N.H., and a graduate of St. Josephs School of 
Nursing in New Hampshire in 1945. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic 
Church for more than 50 years, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus 
Council No. 367 and a member of the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John W. Ellis, Jr.; four sons, John W. 
Ellis, III, and his wife, Alice, of Norfolk, James M. Ellis, and his wife, Sonya, 
of Youngstown, Ohio, David G. Ellis, and his wife, Jan, and Thomas J. Ellis, all 
of Titusville, Fla.; two daughters, Kathryne Slavin, and her husband, Frank, of 
Rural Retreat, Va., Mary Cash, and her husband, Kevin, of Norfolk; a sister, 
Claire Mazeika, and her husband, Ben, of Madeira Beach, Fla.; a brother, Philip 
Brodeur, of Nashua, N.H.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Christ the 
King Catholic Church, by Father Brian Rafferty. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery in Norfolk. A Christian wake will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Norfolk 
Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Following services, the family will receive 
friends at the Knights of Columbus No. 367.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to KOVAR, c/o Knights of 
Columbus, Council No. 367, 5201 Kennebeck St., Norfolk, VA 23518.
