Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, June 10, 1991 
Leslie C. Ellis Jr., of the 1200 block of W. 42nd St., died June 6, 1991, in a
hospital.

Mr. Ellis, a native of Norfolk, had retired from the Water Department from the
City of Norfolk after 25 years. He was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist
Church, Chesapeake. He was also a member of the church's usher board and was an
Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Lois Ellis; two sons, Leslie C. Ellis III
of Norfolk and James E. Hughes of Virginia Beach; his mother, Rose Russell Ellis
of Norfolk; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Rose of Sharon Baptist Church
by the Rev. Marvin L. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake
service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Hale Funeral Home. Friends may
join the family at the residence.
