Virginian Pilot April 16, 1994

Eugene Thomas "Gene" Ellison, 51, of the 500 block of Fenchurch St., died 
Tuesday, April 12, 1994, in Manning Convalescent Home. He was a chef for various 
restaurants.
Mr. Ellison was the son of the late Booker T. Ellison and the late Eunice Graham 
Winstead.
He is survived by his stepfather, Marion Winstead of Norfolk; 11 sisters, Yvonne 
K. Latimer, Sarah M. Hargraves, both of Chesapeake, Fannie C. Etheridge, Eunice 
Winstead, Nanette Elliott, Beverly Winstead, LaBarbara Sheed, Vanessa Winstead, 
all of Norfolk, Mrs. Ollie Mae Pope, Mrs. Marian Byrum, both of Wilson, N.C., 
and Mrs. Grace Beklin of Philadelphia, Pa.; five brothers, Miles Winstead of 
Norfolk, William D. Winstead, Robert L. Winstead, both of Norristown, Pa., Jason 
Winstead of Wilmington, Del., and Eli Winstead of Wilson, N.C.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Christ of Pentecostal Church 
by the Rev. Moses Davis. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Metropolitan 
Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be at the funeral home 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
Sunday. The family will be at the home of his stepfather, at 524 Fenchurch St., 
Norfolk, and will assemble there for the service.
