Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 9, 1942

Mrs. Catherine McNamara Emley, wife of Carroll Emley and daughter of the late 
Patrick and Mrs. Mary McNamara, died at 6:30 o'clock Friday morning in New York 
City. Besides her husband she is survived by one brother, William I. McNamara, 
of Norfolk and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be 
announced later.

EMLEY, CATHERINE McNAMARA - At New York City, Friday, May 8, 1942, at 6:30 
o'clock a.m., CATHERINE McNAMARA, wife of Carroll Emley and daughter of the late 
Patrick and Mrs. Mary McNamara. Remains will be taken from the residence of her 
brother, William I. McNamara, No. 1600 Holland Avenue, Winona, Norfolk, Va. to 
St. Mary's Catholic Church for funeral services MONDAY MORNING at 10 o'clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Catherine McNamara Emley. Funeral services for Mrs. Emley, wife of Carroll 
Emley, who died Friday morning at New York City, were held yesterday morning at 
10 o’clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Norfolk, with the Rev. F. V. Bambrick 
officiating. The Rev. P. C. Blackburn was present in the sanctuary. Several 
selections were rendered during the service by the choir of St. Mary’s Academy, 
with Mrs. Joseph Lex as organist. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The 
pallbearers were J. F. Reinhard, P. R. Harden, William J. McNamara and Robert 
Burton.
