Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 14, 1954

Mrs. Madeline Mary Norman England, 39, wife of Jesse Franklin England and 
daughter of John Edgar and Mrs. Maggie Patrick Norman, a native of Creswell, N.C 
and a resident of Norfolk for 33 years, died yesterday at 12:10 p.m. at the 
residence, 4912 Palem Road.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by one son, Donald England, two 
daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann Hickman and Miss Linda Lou England, all of Norfolk; five 
sisters, Mrs. Joseph F. Fitzpatrick, of Norfolk, Mrs. Leonard Columbia, of 
Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Nellie Miller and Mrs. Charles Crutchfield, of Norfolk and 
Mrs. Stella Little, of Greenville, three brothers, Herman A. Norman, Harold E. 
Norman and John E. Norman, all of Norfolk and two grandchildren, Roger and 
Stephen Hickman.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to the Frist 
Christian Church (Disciples) for funeral services Tuesday at 11 a.m., conducted 
by the Rev. Floyd A. Leggett, pastor. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

November 13, 1954, at 12:10 p.m., MADELINE MARY NORMAN ENGLAND, wife of Jesse 
Franklin England and daughter of John Edgar and Mrs. Maggie Patrick Norman, in 
the 40th year of her age. Remains will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to the First Christian Church (Disciples) for 
funeral services TUESDAY MORNING at 11 o'clock. Friends of the family are 
invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Madeline Mary Norman England — Funeral services for Mrs. England, wife of 
Jesse Franklin England, who died Saturday at the residence, 4912 Palem Road, 
were conducted at the First Christian Church (Disciples) yesterday at 11 a.m. by 
the Rev. Floyd A. Leggett, pastor. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The 
pallbearers were Edward E. Crutchfield, B. Franklin Little, Lloyd E. Miller, 
Norman Little, Charles E. Crutchfield and William Little.
