ENNIS, 72, DIES; VETERAN MONUMENT DEALER NORFOLK - Edward V. Ennis, 72, veteran monument business operator in Norfolk, died Friday at 1 a.m. in Veteran's Hospital, Kecoughtan. He was the husband of Mrs. Katherine McCarter Ennis. Born in Essex County, son of John Wesley and Mrs. Catherine Denniston Ennis, he had lived in Norfolk most of his life. He resided at 1536 Holland Ave. His business was located in the 900 block of W. 21st Street. He saw service in World War I and was a member of Norfolk Post 36, American Legion. He long had been active in Norfolk Lodge 38, BPO Elks, and was a member of the Woodsmen of the World. Besides his wife, surviving is one son, Edward V. Ennis Jr. The family has asked that flowers be omitted. A rosary service is scheduled at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
