ENNIS, 54, DIES AFTER SUDDEN ILLNESS PRESIDENT OF PAPER COMPANY BEARING HIS NAME AND ATLANTIC BOOK STORE Frank Gibbons Ennis, Sr., 54, founder and president of the Frank G. Ennis Paper Company and president of the Atlantic Book Store, Inc., died yesterday morning at 5:52 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital of an illness with which he was stricken suddenly late the night before. Mr. Ennis, who died on his birthday, had just returned from a business trip through New England and seemed in the best of spirits, associates said. Born in Norfolk, the son of the late John Wesley and Mrs. Catherine Dennis Ennis, he had lived here all his life, residing at 2800 Chesapeake Boulevard at the time of his death. Mr. Ennis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of that church, the Knights of Columbus, Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B. P. O. Elks, the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and the National Paper Trade Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Sykes Ennis; two sons, Frank G. Ennis, Jr., and Robert Lee Ennis; a daughter, Miss Mary Louise Ennis; two brothers, Joseph B. Ennis and Edward V. Ennis, and two grandchildren, all of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held tonight at 8 o'clock in the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. DEATHS At a local hospital, Thursday, December 16th, 1943, at 5:52 o'clock a.m., Frank Gibbons Ennis, Sr., husband of Mrs. Carrie Sykes Ennis and son of the late John Wesley and Mrs. Catherine Dennis Ennis, aged 45 years. Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial Avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church for funeral services Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
