NORFOLK - Arthur Leo Epner, 68, of the 800 block of Shirley Ave., the owner of 
Epner Oil Heating Co., died March 4, 1987, in his home.
Mr. Epner, a New York City native, worked in real estate sales for Charter 
Realty. He was a volunteer at the Virginia Medical Center, Hampton.
He was a member of the board of directors of B'Nai Israel Congregation and a 
past commander of the Board of Jewish War Veterans, 158. He was an Army veteran 
of World War II and chairman of the Community Relations Council of the United 
Jewish Federation.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Fine Epner, a daughter, Ruth E. Paul of New 
Brunswick, NJ; two sons, Robert F. Epner of Brooklyn, NY, and Gerald of 
Springfield, VA; his father, Samuel, Samuel Epner of Palmdale, CA; a sister, 
Miriam Schacter of Tenac, NJ; two brothers, William Epner of Palmdale and 
Norman Epner of Pearl River, NJ; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon today in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts, 
Norfolk, by Rabbis Aaron Baer and Samuel Sobel. Burial will be in B'Nai Israel 
Cemetery.
