The funeral services of Mrs. Malissa Epps were conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
from the Church of God in Christ.  Elder A. Reid officiating assisted by Rev. S.
M. Jackson who spoke very beautifully on the life of the deceased.  Mrs.
Josephine Wimberly sang very touchingly “My Loved Ones Are Waiting for Me.”  The
funeral was largely attended by white and colored friends and the floral designs
were numerous.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

In sad but loving memory of our dear mother, Malisia Epps, 
who departed this life one year ago January 15,1928.

Just one year ago today you left us,
sad and lonely has been our lives since then,
But the memory of you dear mother,
Will be with us to the end.
Oh, the memory of that sad morn,
We waited with aching hearts,
Knowing the one we loved so dearly,
Must from us forever part.
Upright, and beautiful in all her ways,
Wonderful character all her days, 
A loving mother truly and kind,
What a beautiful memory she left behind.
