Mr. Epps was 40 years of age at his death. The funeral services were held on Sunday 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. The sermon was delivered by the pastor, Rev. N. B. Brown. Interment was made in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Epps is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Merritt Epps, a sister, and a brother, and a host of other relatives and friends. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were, Mr. Clarence Merritt, of New York City; Mrs. R. E. Woodson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith, of Suffolk, VA. Out-of-town friends were Messrs. Enoch Walker, Willie Allen, and Mrs. Irene Armstrong, of New York City; Mrs. Rebecca Broadnax, of Suffolk, VA; Messrs. Percy Wallace, James Clinton, Lee Parham, Harry Bell, and Fred Conaway of Portsmouth, VA.
