Mrs. Gibbs was born in Chocowinity, N.C. For the past two years she had a weekly radio ministry program on WZBQ-AM in Greenville, N.C. She was a member and eldress of Morning Glory Apostolic Faith Holiness Church. She had formerly served as an evangelist for St. Mark Apostolic Church in Norfolk, and for churches in North Carolina, Delaware and New York City. She was also a retired domestic worker and was the widow of Kirkland Epps. Survivors include a daughter, Irene M. Harris of Suffolk; her father, the Rev. Thomas Gibbs of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Dolly M. Baker of Colonial Heights, Dorothy G. Elliot and J. Patricia G. Cosely, both of Petersburg; four brothers, Sylvester Howard of Jacksonville, N.C., Vice Bishop Robert L. Gibbs of Spring Hope, N.C., Cliffton E. Gibbs of Chocowinity and Danny L. Gibbs Sr. of Bridgeport, Conn.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Hope Church of God in Christ by the Rev. Herman Clark. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Twilight Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
