Funeral at 4 o'clock THIS AFTERNOON. Her friends are respectfully invited. Please omit flowers. ************* Death of Miss Ema Erxleben The untimely demise of this most estimable young lady, the only daughter of Mr. William Erxleben, of this city, at St. Vincent's Hospital at 7:30 o'clock last evening, after an illness of several months, brought on by her unremitting care and attention to her brother, who has been an invalid for a period of more than an year, is not only a severe blow to her sorely bereaved parents, but it has cast a feeling of sadness and sorrow over an extended circle of friends and acquaintances, who knew her in life only to love and esteem. She was the idol of her father's household and none will feel her loss more deeply than those who were bound to her by the strong ties of parental affection. The deceased was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, active in pushing forward all of its enterprises, and was never weary in well doing. A requiem mass will be said for the repose of her soul at 8 o'clock this morning from St. Mary's Church and the funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Norfolk Landmark September 11, 1894 ******************************************************************************** Funeral of Miss Emma Erxleben It was with deep sorrow the many friends of Miss Emma Erxleben learned of her death which occurred at St. Vincent's Hospital Monday evening, after an illness of several months. Her life had been one of self denial and devotion to members of her family. She was loved by a large circle of friends and while she lived did her duty well. The deceased was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and mass was said yesterday morning at the hospital for the repose of her soul. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from the hospital chapel.
