He was born Feb. 2, 1873, in Naples, a son of Gesualdo Esposito and Mrs. Theresa Grimaldi Esposito. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Olimpia Mosca Esposito. He came to the United States in 1905 and moved shortly afterward to Norfolk. Before his retirement, he was a produce merchant in the old Norfolk City Market. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a charter member of Roma Lodge of Norfolk. When he celebrated his 100th birthday anniversary, he received telegrams and letters of congratulation from President Nixon, Virginia Gov. Linwood Holton, the Rt. Rev. John J. Russell, former Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, and other notables. He is survived by three daughters, Miss Albina C. Esposito, Mrs. Theresa E. Morris, and Mrs. John Russell Tucker of Norfolk; two sons, Henry L. Esposito of Norfolk and Alfonso R. T. Esposito of Bethesda, Md.; and a grandson, John Russell Tucker Jr. of Norfolk.
