Virginian-Pilot  December 2, 1916
The funeral of Mrs. Mary T. Espy took place yesterday at 10 o’clock at St. Mary’s 
Catholic church, conducted by Rev. J. J. Doherty, and was largely attended. The 
coffin was covered with a pall of chrysanthemums, carnations, roses and ferns. 
There were many floral offerings. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. The 
pallbearers were: J. R. Coleman, T. S. Fitzgibbon, S. C. Phillips, J. A. Baecher, 
M. McKevltt, John Mariner, W. M. Hannan and C. O. Bell.
