The Virginian Pilot Thursday November 13, 1986
Eugene Edgar Estes, Sr., 85, a retired carpenter, died Nov. 12, 1986, in a 
Newport News hospital. 
Mr. Estes, a Charlottesville native, was a Baptist and the widower of Julia H. 
Estes.
Survivors include five daughters, Gertrude Sutton and Marjorie Bailey, both of 
Norfolk, Nellie E. Wiley, Barbara E. Randolph and Else Cabigon, all of Virginia 
Beach; three sons, Herman Estes and Robert Estes, both of Norfolk and William 
Estes of Newport News; 38 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery 
by the Rev. Paul B. Watlington Jr.  The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 4 to 6 p.m. today and at 812 Tucson Ave., 
Virginia Beach.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
