The Norfolk Landmark August 26, 1902

Mr. Joseph Etheredge departed this life yesterday morning about 3 o'clock at his 
home, No. 327 Virginia Street, in the 29th year of his age. The deceased was 
well and favorably known, having been a resident here for a number of years. He 
is survived by a wife and one child. The funeral will take place today at 2 p.m. 
from the residence and the remains will be interred in Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Mr. Joseph Etheredge took place yesterday at 2 p.m. from 
the residence on Virginia Street. The obsequies were conducted by Rev. A.J. 
Rainey, pastor of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, and the remains were laid to 
rest in Magnolia Cemetery.
