A native of Bertie County, N.C., she lived in Portlock most of her life. She was a former secretary of South Norfolk Police Chief J.K. Holland. She was the wife of Francis Travis Etheredge and a daughter of Alexander L. and Mrs. Molly A. Millikin King. She was a member of Rosemont Congregational Christian Church and its Betty Gibson Bible Class. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred M. Culpepper of Colorado Springs and Mrs. H.M. (Anne) Gilbert of Portlock; a son, the Rev Aubrey S. Tomlinson of First Baptist Church, Louisburg, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Harry E. Pitt of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at noon in Graham Funeral Home by the Rev. Willis E. Joiner of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. The family will be at her home.
