The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday October 17, 1946
Henry Bascom Etheredge, 79, died yesterday at 9 a.m. at his residence, 1326 
Chesapeake Avenue, South Norfolk, after an illness of one year.
A son of Maj. William Henry and Mrs. Sarah Carson Etheredge, he was a lifelong 
resident of this section and was a member of the Chesapeake Avenue Methodist 
Church. His wife was the late Mrs. Leila Virginia Stout Etheredge.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J.G. Hines, of Washington, D.C.; two sons, 
Forrest B. Etheredge of South Norfolk, and William H Etheredge, of Chesapeake 
Beach; a sister, Miss Martha R. Etheredge, of South Norfolk, and a grandchild.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where services 
will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
