She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and she attended St. Mary's Academy and Holy Trinity High School. For several years, she worked at the Atlantic Book Store in downtown Norfolk, and later, at the Information Desk at DePaul Hospital. Mrs. Etheridge enjoyed her friends in the Restmere Garden Club, the Holy Trinity Parent Teacher's Association and the Catholic Daughters of America. Throughout her life, she belonged to St. Mary's, Holy Trinity, Christ the King and Blessed Sacrament parishes. In 1944, she married the late Russell C. Etheridge, Jr. and is survived by three children: Russell C. Etheridge, III, of Cambridge MA; Charlene Etheridge Herzfeldt, of Norfolk, and Sr. Carrine Etheridge, IHM, of Louisa County VA. Mrs. Etheridge is also survived by her brother, Robert Lee Ennis, of Dallas TX. Her grandchildren include: Craig and Nora Parrish Etheridge, of Cambridge MA, Sean O'Reilly, of Los Angeles CA, Shannon O'Reilly Schmidt, of Chesapeake VA. She was delighted with her three great-grandchildren, Robert, Richard, and MarySchmidt of Chesapeake. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank G. Ennis, Jr. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Friday, March 15, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church one hour earlier. The celebrant will be The Reverend Father Michael Duffy, pastor of St. Jude and Immaculate Conception Parishes, Louisa County. Memorial donations may be made to the King's Daughters Children's Hospital or the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monroe, MI. H.D.
