NORFOLK - James Edward Etheridge, Sr., 78, entered into eternal rest July 6, 2008, 
at his home. Affectionately known as "Hunn" by his loved ones, he was a native of 
Princess Anne County. Mr. Etheridge was a veteran of the United States Air Force 
and retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 34 years of government 
service.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Leola, and their children, Aquatta (Dana) 
Arnold, Beverly Anderson and Karen Smitherman, all of Virginia Beach, James Edward 
(Siggreta) Etheridge, Jr., of Maryland, and Angela Bright, of Suffolk; 10 
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers; three sisters; and a host of 
nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral will be held Friday at noon in New Calvary Baptist Church, 800 E. 
Virginia Beach Blvd. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Viewing will 
be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service.
