NORFOLK - Sherman McKinley Etheridge, also known as "Chillie" and "Puncho" of
the 2400 block of Cottage Ave., passed Nov. 21, 2009, in a local hospital.
Mr. Etheridge was a retired NMU merchant seaman. Survivors include his wife,
Dorothy Etheridge; a daughter, Takesha Christmas; six sons, Troy, Demetrius, and
Shawn Gardner, Joel, Kevin and A'keem Askew; four grandchildren; a host of other
relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. in the House of Prayer For
All People, Church Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Graves
Funeral Home Inc. is handling arrangements. www.gravesfuneralhomeinc.com.
